Bike Sharing System To Start In Jurong Lake District

The first ever bike-sharing system will take place in Jurong Lake District by end next year, 2017. There will be 100 docking stations and 1,000 bikes.

Two other places – one in Tampines and Pasir Ris and the other in Marina Bay and the city centre will also have their bike-sharing systems which would start later.

There will therefore be about 2,300 bikes and 230 docking stations in total.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will issue the tenders this Friday to invite operators to bid for the bike-sharing systems.
